RUSSIA TODAY
A decade ago or more has passed since the USSR has ceased to exist and during that time the Russian people have been subjected to nothing less than an economic and social revolution (another one.) Three quarters of state enterprises have been fully or partly transferred to private owners in a corrupt privatization drive. The Soviet safety net has been shredded and articles about the woes and impoverishment of the Russian people would fill volumes. But as many years working in Russia shows shoots of new life are springing up all around the Country.

Opportunities in RUSSIA for New Zealand EXPORT (Speech by Mikhail Lysenko, Russian Ambassador to New Zealand)
Speech by Mikhail Lysenko,
Russian-New Zealand relations are on the rise. I would characterize them as a dynamic partnership.
We share many common goals in addressing such issues as counterterrorism, nonproliferation of WMD, regional crises management, global climate changes, natural disaster rehabilitations. Our countries are devoted to a stronger and more efficient United Nations as the key mechanism of international peace and security, to multilateralism and the rule of law. We both have strong interest to and rapidly growing involvement in Asia-Pacific institutions, especially APEC. Together with NZ and more than other 20 states we are participating these days in Wellington in the talks on the establishment of a new South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organization.

Each time, when I see the creativity of our compatriots I am always surprised at the talent, inexhaustible imagination, and how, together with a new life in the new country, new abilities are revealed.
It is good, when the person does not live on memories of the past, and uses the chance to begin a new life in the new country, and the age of the person is not important.

The shocking promotion. Russian Bride as a Prise or as a Slave?
Dear partners and husbands of Russian ladies, do you see your wife or girlfriend like that? Can you portray her as a professional cleaner, while you can read your paper on a sofa? Please let us know by phone or e-mail us. This new promotion of â??42 Belowâ?? is in the shops now. It was discussed in â??Sunday Starâ?? last week and on all the radio channels on Monday, Tuesday 27, 28 February. What do you think about it? Agree with the way they advertise Russian lady as a prise in the competition? Agree with a fantasy they planting into New Zealand man, making them to believe that Russian ladies are still so behind that will agree to do anything to come to New Zealand? Have you experienced that?
